19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with former coach Cervara.
Presently training with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.
Victory also means Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is really nice," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.
The player's defensive strategy and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to perform at the elite level was over.
However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the final five points to go ahead.
Both players swapped break points in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.
Moutet rescued four early break points in a competitive final set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured the title with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
