The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of heroes who will separate from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team knows exactly where to go next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise started the campaign’s events—used the foes for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as important members in House Halovar could enable the party access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in quest for the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
According to episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Explorers and Planners groups.
